Greetings,fellow citizens of the world!
My name is Mario L. Stanton, and I am the writer behind The Rio Stanton Report, a commentary blog focused on politics, history, culture, and the narratives that shape public understanding.
I am a retired first responder currently studying Mass Communications and Media Studies at Arizona State University, where I am also pursuing a minor in African and African American Studies. My academic interests center on media literacy, political communication, history, and the ways information influences public perception and social policy.
For many years, I have been involved in activism and public discourse surrounding issues of social justice, economic justice, and civil rights. My work and writing often explore the intersection of history, power, and modern political narratives. Through The Rio Stanton Report, I examine common myths about American history, challenge misleading political talking points, and reflect on how media and culture shape our understanding of society.
My background as a first responder also informs my perspective. Years of service in emergency response exposed me to the realities of American communities in ways that statistics and headlines alone cannot capture. Those experiences continue to shape how I approach questions of public policy, justice, and social responsibility.
In addition to writing, I have a deep interest in travel and cultural exchange. Exploring different parts of the United States and the world has reinforced my belief that cultures constantly evolve through interaction and shared experience.
The Rio Stanton Report began as a university assignment, but it has grown into a platform for thoughtful commentary and analysis. My goal is to contribute to informed public conversation by examining history, questioning conventional narratives, and encouraging readers to think critically about the world around them.
